Proper Tattoo Care

When it comes to getting a tattoo, aftercare is the most important part. When tattoo artists use proper S8 Tattoo products, your skin should be completely healthy after your tattoo session, but it's still important to apply basic care techniques. No matter if you have one tattoo or many, the healing process is a long and tedious road, and everyone should be educated on how to care for a new tattoo. Using basic skincare tactics is the main tactic for making sure that your tattoo settles on your skin healthily.

The most important part of the healing process after getting a tattoo is the initial cleaning. Assuming you got your tattoo from a properly licensed artist, and a clean parlor, you should have had a bandage placed on your new tattoo upon completion. It’s imperitive that you wait a recommended minimum of four hours after the completion of your tattoo to take off the bandage. The artist put the bandage there to protect your skin from bacteria and absorb any leaking fluids. If your artist used a high-quality stencil solution to clean the skin pre-transfer, your skin and tattoo should both look healthy. Before you remove said bandage, you must soak it in warm water to prevent it from getting stuck on your skin, which will otherwise irritate your skin. Washing the tattoo with your hands and an antibacterial soap is the best way to ensure that it has been cleaned of all of the initial bacteria. You must continue this routine two to three times a day for at least three days in order for the tattoo to heal properly, following a daily moisturization for at least three weeks.

Another important point of post-tattoo health is to avoid direct sunlight, as your skin could get blistered easily. It’s best to keep your tattoo covered until the healing process is complete.
